Happy New Year

Happy New Year everybody! Let's hope that 2010 is better than 2009 eh?

What are we going to call this decade then? My vote is for the 'Tenners'! The 2010ers sounds stupid to me!

No doubt we'll decide by about 2018, just like last decade...

Merry Christmas One and All!

Just a quick one to say Merry Christmas to everybody. Have a good one!

Well, we didn't make it.

We tried, hard. 'but it wasn't our night tonight. 1-0 down and then sadly reduced to 10 men. Second half Shortwood got more into it, and Mike Hunter the keeper made some fantastic saves to easily earn MoM in my book. Last game for Jamie Groves. God knows we'll miss him. I'm on the coach right now, somewhere between Shortwood and Shoreham.; It's raining and the rotten sods have got me pissed again. Never mind, sometimes it's fun.

Oh My Goodness!

Well this is unbelievable!
Just recently we shot the photos for the club calender, a la 'Calender Girls' style. Thanks the efforts of Hayley, Cam's (player for Shoreham FC) missus has had them all printed up and they're going to be sold for the club floodlight fund.
It seems really crazy that this is happening and if actually had some images printed like this!
Now it seems the BBC are interested! A senior player (and calender star) is being interviewd on Tuesday 5th Dec on the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Sussex. Mad isn't it?

Let's hope something good comes of it!

It's hammer time!

OK sort of. I'm in Hammersmith this week for the second week of my NEBOSH 'elf & safety course. All very thrilling. This week it's hazards and controls.
Deep joy!

Right c'mon then, let's get our fingers out!

Given all of todays technology, it's shamefully poor that my blog is so sparsely populated. I have a bleeding laptop, a Mobile phone with enough pc power to fly the space shuttle, a desktop pc pluigged into god knows what and we're still rubbish. Discipline James, discipline! (see Goldfinger for that one).
So what's been happening?
Shoreham had a fantastic win against Redhill last Tuesday in the FA Vase 2nd Round. Went 1-0 down, equalised. Rob Boddy scored a stunning winner on 88 minutes to take us through. One of my photos from the game made the back page of Thursdays local paper the Shoreham Herald too. The gallery is on my main website http://www.mikedinsdale.co.uk/ . So now we're away to Shortwood FC, who live in Gloucestershire. 5th Dec should be a good trip!
We've also been top of the league up until recently, so that's been good too.
We are desperately hoping to get all of our calendar shots done thuis weekend, but if the weather is against us then that could really sink us, which would be a shame. Keep everything crossed!

In other news, I'm part way through doing my NEBOSH Gen Cert qualification. First week done, week off this week, second week next week. Exam the week after plus practical to do. For the uninitiated this is a level 3 qualification (same level as an A level) but you do it in 2 weeks. 4-5 hours home study + 8 hours in the classroom is pretty intense. But it's good and I'm doing OK so far.

My adoptive Ma (Dads partner of 26 years) had a hip replacement yesterday. All went well I'm told. Sitting up and eating etc so it's all good. Further news as it comes.

Shoreham are at home tomorrow in the John O'Hara Cup, so we contiune or Trophy Trail on two fronts currently.
Look forward to seeing you soon!

How long? Thats's poor!

20th August since my last ramble. That's crap isn't it really?
Mind you, it has been busy. The football season has started, so that takes up a lot of time, shooting, processing and publishing.
Went to Alton Towers for a few days too, that was fun. Me and the boys. Got a little cottage by the main entrance. Great stuff.

What else? Oh yeah, bought a new camera. Canon 1DMKIII. Holy pants that is some kind of tool. The features and functions are just incredible. Shot about 3 matches with it. Looks and feels superb. Also gave me the gateway to join the Canon Professional Network. Own dedicated hotline, techy blokes to talk to, loan gear when mine's in the 'shop. Lovely.

Also started my college course last month. City and Guilds 7511 Photography. That might seem funny, me doing photography, but it's not really. I can drive a camera with my eyes shut (or at least with it stuck to my eye, lol). But sometimes you need a creative boost. 'Seeing' the image, lighting an image, composition. The football stuff has been really great for that. Like most people, I learn better by doing rather than just reading about it. So I'm getting out there with a camera and challenging myself. And doing my college homework too!

Shoreham FC are doing OK. Had a blinding start, a little early wobble, but now it's 5 wins out of 5. The team really start to be gelling together. DJ is an inspiring captain. Works his socks of on the pitch. The new signings are really kickin' too. Ryan, Richard, Nick, Wayne. I've got a good feeling about this. Away to Bedfont in the FA Vase this Saturday. C'mon you Mussels! I shall be there of course, snapping away like a good 'un. Count on it.

Now planning our Big Holiday of 2009! Orlando! 2 weeks of sun and rollercoasters. Fantastic. The mid-October we are gone! The boys are really looking forward to it. Swimming with dolphins is going to be the highlight I suspect.
So there we are. A quick catch up. Laters!
